Marianne Starck Antelope pitcher vase

Marianne Starck was born in Germany. From 1949 to 1952 she trained at the Hans Joachim Troms pottery. In 1955 Starck moved to Denmark to work as a ceramist at Michael Andersen & Sons where she became the art director. One of her most popular sets of designs was for the 1950s “Tribal” series. This series features white motifs carved by hand through to black clay.
